My
Sales Policy, and how I price my bunnies
Prices for my Angoras
are determined by their quality. In general, show quality means that
the bunny itself is free of any and all disqualifications at the time
of sale. The buyer is highly encouraged to check the rabbit for
dq's as well. Show quality also means that if the breeder (
myself ) where to keep this animal, I would proudly show it in ARBA
shows and most likely do very well with it. I normally keep
siblings out of each litter, and many of my Grand Champions ( all but
2) are home bred, meaning, I can champion what I keep.
Show quality Angoras will cost more if one or both parents are
registered, and will cost more if one or both parents are Grand
Champions. The amount of time it takes to develop a strain of
purebred, strong producers and the costs involved in registering and
showing ( and championing ) generation after generation of such a
strain will have to be taken into condideration when pricing an animal.
Pet quality / wooler quality bunnies are siblings in a litter that will
have a disqualification, keeping them from being shown, which can
include : wrong eye color for the wool color, knot in tail
from an injury in the nest box, one or multiple white toenails ( lack
of pigment ) in a colored rabbit . All these problems ARE
cosmetic, do not harm the rabbit or it's health in any way, but are
sold at a discounted price and without pedigree most of the time ( to
prevent breeding of an animal that has such dq's.).
These bunnies should be used as pets and as wool producers, since some
of these dq's are passed on in the offspring. Some pet quality bunnies
might not have any dq's and simple not be of such quality that they
would do well on the show table, maybe do not have that perfect body,
or lack density if compared to the better siblings.
There is no guarantee that a litter will have such discounted babies,
however, I gladly sell a show quality bunny into a pet home, a buyer
does not HAVE to show or breed a show quality Rabbit . As long as
the higher price is paid, what you end up doing with the bunny is your
choice.
My sales Policy is such that I do not guarantee anything once the bunny
has left my home and has been taken care of by it's new owner.
Upon request, I can issue a health certificate from my Vet ( at the
buyer's expense) for any rabbit that I sell, all shipped rabbits have a
certificate of health as well. Any issues of poor health can be
taken to my Vet for further discussion.
Due to bad experiences in the past, I do not guarantee health or
longevity of any of my sold rabbits once they leave my rabbitry. If you
drop the rabbit and break it's bones, if you feed it wrong and against
my instructions and recommendations, if you house it wrong, if for any
reason the bunny becomes ill or dies due to actions taken in your home
or rabbitry, YOU are responsible for it's death, not me.
If a show quality Rabbit receives an injury in your home ,
vehicle or rabbitry, I will not refund the money. Check each
rabbit you buy carefully, and point out any dq's you might find. Once
the rabbit has left my premises, I am not responsible for broken or
missing tails, toes, toenails, teeth etc.
If a rabbit that you buy will not make senior weight at the appropriate
time, and I can show siblings from the same litter that have staid here
and DO make weight, I can not refund the purchase price. What and
how you feed your Rabbits is your choice, however, I can not guarantee
that my rabbits will adjust well and grow well if you do not follow my
feeding instructions and general feeding guidelines given by many well
known breeders and groups. Should the entire litter have
problems with making weight for showing, I can refund the difference
between show q. price and pet price or exchange the animal for
one of better weight.
If anyone has a question about the health of a specific rabbit or
my entire herd in general, please make an appointment with me to check
my entire rabbitry and herd. You will not find one injured
animal, you will not find one sick animal, you will never hear any
sneezing or find evidence of illness. IF a sold animal is exposed
to sick animals in your home or rabbitry, I can not guarantee that it
will not become ill.
